In 1997, the ineffible forces of the universe collaborated to bring together five men in an aging, isolated Navy base located near the equally aging and isolated town of Winter Harbor, Maine.

Placed into an environment where they were told to "work" with and "work" on obsolete electronics equipment, they decided to combine their powers and fight against the system. The very same entity that had so cruelly forced them to labor for hours with scarce pay and minimal benefits.

They met secretly and often at such designated "safe houses" as Chase's Restaurant, the Schooner Club and their respective barracks quarters.

Meanwhile, their arch enemy's plotted against them, but to no avail.
